The art of packing, el arte de empacar.

Estoy rumbo al aeropuerto pensando si empaqué las cosas adecuadas. Desde hace muchos años que soy enemiga de llevar ropa que no necesito a pasear y sobre todo con estas millones de reglas que ahora existen en los aeropuertos son aún más enemiga de pagar exceso de equipaje. Aparte de que la ropa vieja siempre quita espacio en la maleta para lo nuevo (Dios mío te ruego me des cordura y no firme cosas que según yo "necesito").

Creo que las reglas básicas en el arte de empacar son:

1) Probarte antes la ropa.
2) Llevar los outfits armados.
3) No llevar cosas "por si acaso" .
4) Llevar el número de zapatos realmente necesario y coherente con tu estancia. Ejemplo si te vas 4 días dos pares de zapatos son más que suficientes, 5 pares es absurdo.
5) En los hoteles hay la gran mayoría de las cosas de baño, no te lleves tu shampoo de un galón.
6) Elige una prenda para taparte que te vaya bien con todo.
7) En el hotel también hay secadoras, planchas,etc. ¡No lleves cosas innecesarias!
8) Si tu estuche de cosméticos es inmenso, edítalo con los artículos suficientes y que vas a necesitar fuera.
9) Ten mucho cuidado con tus accesorios.
10) Guarda los zapatos en bolsas de tela, así no mancharas tu ropa y conservaras en mejor estado tu zapato.

I'm heading to the airport thinking if I packed the right things. I am an enemy of packing too much especially with these millions of rules that now exist at airports, I find totally pointless to pay excess baggage. Besides old clothes always take up room in the suitcase for the new stuff (I pray God to give me wisdom and do not use my card for things  I think I "need" ).

For me the basic rules in the art of packing are:

1) To try on before ur clothes.

2) Bring outfits previously putted together.

3) Do not take things "just in case".

4) Take the number of shoes really necessary and coherent with your stay. Example if you go four days two pairs of shoes are more than enough, 5 pairs is absurd.

5) In hotels u´ll find all the bathroom amenities , do not take your one gallon shampoo.  

6) Choose a garment to cover yourself that goes well with everything.

7) In the hotel there are also dryers, irons, etc..Do not take unnecessary things!

8) If your cosmetic case is immense, edit it. 

9) Be careful with your accessories.

10) Keep the shoes in bags or they can get ur clothes dirty.

Milan y su color Merthiolate

Las propuestas de Milan para esta primavera 2013 son muy alegres, muchos de mis diseñadores favoritos utilizaron una mezcla de rojo con naranja que a mi percepción simula el color del Merthiolate (¿conocen esa medicina? Es típica para curar heridas). Nunca me imaginé que este color se viera tan bien en la ropa, creo que con siluetas y cortes simples luce espectacular.

Daniella Tello

Si me leen frecuentemente pueden darse cuenta que me encantan las ilustraciones y sobre todo las ilustraciones de moda. Como buena google freak que soy estaba "navegando" (¡Palabra dominguerísima!) varios blogs cuando como rayo de luz apareció el blog de Daniela Tello. 

¿Quién es Daniela Tello?

Es una diseñadora orgullosamente mexicana con estudios en moda en el CEDIM y la UDEM en Monterrey pero originaria de Los Mochis.

Mientras estudiaba Daniella hizo una capsule collection que exitosamente vendió online en países como Francia, Australia, Suecia, USA y Bulgaria.

Todas las ilustraciones son hechas completamente a mano y sin retoques digitales ¿Buenísimas no?

No se les olvide que la próxima semana empieza Google+Fashion México ¿Ya agendaron los desfiles y hangouts en los que van a participar? Yo antes de irme de viaje voy a estar en la grabación del evento en los Estudios Churubusco. ¡Wow! 

Por último algo MUY IMPORTANTE recuerden que este martes es mi gloriosa, profesional, divina, sublime, en puntas, espectacular (manas, santas, chulas, adoradas) primera vez que salgo como invitada en un programa de televisión "Tu Vida más Simple" por Utilísima a las 6 de la tarde hora del centro de México, pero el programa va a ser transmitido para toda Latinoamérica y  Estados Unidos (solo quiero comentar que pesaba 8 kilos más cuando fue la grabación, por si tenían el pendiente).

If you read frequently my blog you`ll realize that I love illustrations, especially fashion illustrations. As I'm a google freak I was surfing blogs when  Daniela Tello's blog as a ray of light appeared.

Who is Daniela Tello?
It is a proudly Mexican fashion designer with studies at UDEM and CEDIM in Monterrey but originally from Los Mochis.

While studying Daniella made ​​a capsule collection that successfully sold online in countries like France, Australia, Sweden, USA and Bulgaria.

Don't forget that next week begins Google+Fashion Mexico have u already booked the shows and hangouts u wanna attend? Before I make a trip to one of my favorite places on earth I will be attending the shooting of this event at the Studios Churubusco. Wow!

Last but not least  remember that this Tuesday is my glorious, divine, sublime, spectacular (hahaha if I don't cheer myself up, who will? ) first time out as a guest on a television show "Tu Vida Más Simple" by Utilísima Channel at 6 pm central Time in Mexico, but the program will be transmitted to all Latin America and the United States. I just want to make a last note that I´ve lost 8 kilos since we shoot that show.

Oh September!

In fashion September is like January, the whole industry is ready to start the fashion season with the runways, buyer presentations, parties, etc. NY, Paris, London and Milan become in this month the "place to be". I love september for many reasons, first of all because its my birthday, my fashion reasons mentioned above and don't why but my life always gets better this month, its really a change of season/attitude and skin for myself. This month started in an unusual yet fascinating way, I had the chance to take a weekend off to the beach (where by the way I had dinner at Saffron a thai restaurant at the Banyan Tree hotel that I recommend 100%), when I came back to the city one of my best friends asked me to show around for one day, to her french boyfriends best friend who was visiting. The advantages of freelancing is that you can take a day off easily and do some work at night but in my case I enjoyed so much being a tourist in my own city that I took almost the whole week off (though i had to work a bit late every night , but whatever I had a great time). I've always been in love with the city but this week was amazing, its ironic how doing someone a favor turnes out to be so productive and fun. 

To all of my readers in Mexico City or if you plan to come you must go to:

*Have lunch/dinner at the terrace of Gran Hotel de la Ciudad de México. 

*Have a nice walk around the Chapultepec lake and Castle.

I can keep the list going on but those are my favorite picks. 

Then my birthday came I had such an AMAZING day, got to see dear friends and family after I celebrated all weekend in Las Vegas where probably I had one of my best trips ever, but I need another post to talk u about those awesome days.

En la moda Septiembre es como Enero, toda la industria está listo para iniciar la temporada con pasarelas, presentaciones a compradores, fiestas, etc. Nueva York, París, Londres y Milán se convierten en este mes el "place to be". Me encanta septiembre por muchas razones, en primer lugar, porque es mi cumpleaños, las razones de moda mencionadas anteriormente y no se por qué, pero mi vida siempre se pone mejor este mes, es realmente un cambio de temporada / actitud, literalmente siento como un cambio de piel. Este mes comenzó de una manera inusual y fascinante, tuve la oportunidad de irme un fin de semana a la playa (donde por cierto cene en el restaurante Saffron tailandés del hotel Bayan Tree, se loa recomiendo 100%), cuando llegué de vuelta a la ciudad uno de mis mejores amigas me pidió que acompañara un día a recorrer la ciudad al mejor amigo de su novio francés que venía de visita. Las ventajas de trabajar freelance es que usted puedes tomar un día libre con facilidad y trabajar por la noche, pero en este caso disfrute mucho ser turista en mi propia ciudad tanto que ese dia se convirtió en casi una semana de recorridos  (aunque tuve que desvelarme para poder trabajar un poco en las noches, no me importo porque la pase excelente). Siempre he estado enamorada de la ciudad, pero esta semana ha sido increíble, descubrir lugares por los que has pasado mile de veces pero jamás te tomas el tiempo de entrar, es irónico cómo hacer un favor a alguien resulta ser tan productivo y divertido.
A todos mis lectores en la Ciudad de México o si van a venir de visita les recomiendo:

* Tener el almuerzo / cena en la terraza del Gran Hotel de la Ciudad de México.
* Tiene un agradable paseo por el lago de Chapultepec y Castillo.

Ayer aterricé y apenas me estoy poniendo al corriente en contestar mails y escribir en el blog y otras páginas para las que colaboro, también estoy finalmente viendo en santa paz los desfiles de NY y Londres.
