Que gusto me da que cada edición del ahora
Mercedes Benz FashionWeek México mejora, es notable como a pasos agigantados nos estamos
convirtiendo en una plataforma importante de moda a nivel mundial.

Como ya es mi ritual de Fashion Week ya sea en Milán, NY, Roma, Paris o
México siempre miro con detalle el
programa e investigo acerca de los
diseñadores cuyas propuestas me llamen la atención para poder disfrutar de sus
desfiles, después de tanto camino recorrido me he dado cuenta que “ir por ir”
no tiene sentido, y que el gusto o pasión por la moda va más allá de eventos y
glamour, para mí es una manera de arte que te acompaña todos los días,
volviéndose un estilo de vida.
Esta edición fue diferente ya que usualmente asisto a las
semanas de la moda ya sea por trabajo o por apoyo a mis amigos diseñadores,
esta vez tuve el gusto de ir como Blogger invitada por parte de
Koleston,
definitivamente una experiencia única y muy divertida.
Recuerdo mucho que mi ex jefe
Maximilian Linz (top PR de
moda en Italia) siempre nos decía que había siempre que ser TOP y estar
perfectamente preparados para “la moda” refiriéndose así a las semanas del año donde ocurren todos los desfiles , pero en Milán a diferencia de México los desfiles no suceden en un mismo
sitio (como en NY o Roma), en México es el único lugar del mundo con stands tan interesantes para los asistentes al evento.

¿El qué me salvo la vida para poder verme TOP?
Definitivamente el de
Koleston, donde había expertos y valientes estilistas
(digo valientes porque mi melena es larga y con muuuuuuucho volumen, creo que les
dolían los brazos después de peinarme) que hacían milagros y peinados
espectaculares, por supuesto que me aproveche y llegaba diario literal de pelo
lavado para que “hicieran sus magias” y de verdad que se noto muchísimo que
estaban añadiendo toques fashion, chic y glamorosos a todas las niñas que nos íbamos
a producir con ellos, aparte como todas entrábamos Cenicientas y salíamos como
reinas evidentemente la voz se empezó a correr y ya para el segundo día estabas
OUT si no te ibas a dar una vuelta por el stand.
Me encanto ver que tanto hombres como mujeres que asistieron
al evento hicieron sus mejor esfuerzo por verse muy bien, estaba gratamente
sorprendida por muchos looks de la gente que asistió. Looks con una historia detrás,
con concepto y de acuerdo a las últimas tendencias. Había muy pocas niñas con
look
Ninel Conde o de catálogo de
Price Shoes o la típica fresa que se cree
fashion con
Vuitton o
Chanel fake (que son las PEORES).

En cuento a propuestas y conceptos de moda quiero destacar los desfiles que en mi opinión fueron los mejores no solo por el concepto, también porque fueron pasarelas redondas, coherentes en todas sus salidas, el fitting de las y los modelos era perfecto, el styling, las propuestas en cuanto a maquillaje y peinados eran innovadoras pero a la vez coherente con las tendencias de la temporada y la ropa, en fin simplemente las califico como perfectas. ¿Quienes fueron estos diseñadores?

Lorena Saravia,
Alejandra Quesada,

¿Porqué considero a
Julia y Renata,
Trista y
Ocho las mejores?
Julia y Renata para mí son sinónimo de éxito en cuanto a moda en este país, llevo años siguiendo su carrera, y cada temporada las admiro más, su capacidad de sorprender y ser mejores cada estación es inminente. Esta colección estuvo inspirada en las sociedades secretas y en las teorías de conspiración, mismas que pudimos ver en hermosas siluetas sueltas en colores negro, blanco y rojo, mezcladas en transparencias y sedas brillantes. Adoro que van de acuerdo a las tendencias pero siempre con un punto de vista único y propositivo. El fitting de cada prenda es siempre perfecto, esto en moda es sinónimo de talento, amor y pasión por lo que se hace, ellas saben cuanto las admiro y como desde hace años que llevan invitándome a sus desfiles ¡Quiero comprarme desde la primera hasta la última prenda de cada colección! Por cierto, les cuento el chisme que están en la edición impresa de
Vogue Italia 3D ¿Así o más talentosas?
Creo que se me están quemando los dedos mientras escribo esto. Siempre he criticado la capacidad de Jose María Torre como diseñador, pero me dejo boquiabierta o mejor dicho calladita con lo que presento este miércoles en la semana de la moda en nuestro país. Mocasines y botas divinos en colores beige, vino y negro, cortes limpios y asimétricos, en colores sobrios y elegantes. ¡Me encanto!
Giovanni Estrada y José Alfredo Silva son los genios detrás de esta marca cuya propuesta además de tener un toque minimilasta y chic, han logrado plasmar en su colección el guardarropa ideal de la mujer citadina que le gusta estar a la moda sin parecer una fashion victim. La sencillez del peinado que complementó perfectamente el estilo de los cortes limpios en las telas además de flecos, telas teñidas, brocados en una paleta de colores plata, negro y blanco predominaron en la pasarela. ¡Espectacular!
Una semana intensa y divertida que termina dejándonos con un grato sabor de boca donde podemos decir con una sonrisa que en México la industria de la moda toma cada temporada más fuerza.

It makes me so
happy that every edition of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week México is better than
the last! It is clear that we are
quickly becoming an important platform for fashion on a global level.
It is now my
fashion week ritual, whether in Milan, NY, Rome, Paris, or México, to always
read the program closely and do research about the designers whose concepts
grab my attention in order to fully enjoy their shows. I have realized that going just for the
sake of going doesn’t make sense.
Passion for style goes much further than the events and the
glamour. For me it is an art form
that is with you every day and becomes a way of life.
This time was
different in that normally I only attend fashion week for work or to support my
designer friends. This time I had
the pleasure of going as a guest blogger, invited by Koleston, which was
definitely a unique and very fun experience.
I often remember my
old boss Maximilian Linz (top fashion publicist in Italy) always telling us
that we always had to look great and be perfectly prepared for “fashion” (referring
to all the fashion weeks). In
Milan, unlike Mexico, the runway shows aren’t held in one place (like in NY or
Rome). Mexico is the only place in
the world with such interesting stands for the event assistants.
Which one saved my
life and made me look great? Definitely the Koleston stand, where there were
experts and brave stylists (I say brave because my hair is long and has a LOT
of volume… I think their arms hurt after doing my hair) that work miracles and create
spectacular hair styles. Of course
I took advantage of this and arrived daily with clean hair so that they could
work their magic. Honestly, you
could tell that they were adding chic, glamorous touches to all the women that
got ready with them. Since all of
us entered looking like Cinderella and left looking like queens, evidently the
word spread and by the second day you were OUT if you didn’t stop by their
stand.
I loved seeing how
the men, just as much as the women, attended the event making their best effort
to look good. I was pleasantly
surprised by many of the looks I saw—looks with a history behind them, with
concepts and on trend. There were
very few women with the Ninel Conde or Price Shoes catalogue look. There also weren’t a lot people (who think they’re fashionable) wearing fake
Vuitton or Chanel (those are the WORST).
As far as fashion
proposals and concepts go, I want to emphasize the runways shows that, in my
opinion, were the best, not only for the concept, but also because they were
complete shows. They were
consistent in all their exits, the fitting and styling were perfect and the
hair and makeup was innovative but at the same time consistent with the
season’s trends and clothing. In
short, I would describe them as perfect.
Who were these designers? Julia y Renata, Trista, and Ocho. Although Macario Jiménez, Lorena Saravia, Alejandra Quesada, Pineda
Covalin, Alexia Ulibarri, Lacoste and American Apparel also deserve
acknowledgment.
Why do I consider
Julia y Renata, Trista, and Ocho the best?
To me they are
synonymous with success as far as fashion goes in this country. I have been following their career for
years and every season I admire them more. Their ability to surprise and improve every season is
imminent. This collection was
inspired by secret societies and conspiracy theories—the same that we can see
in the beautiful loose silhouettes in black, white and red, mixed with
transparency and bright silks. I
adore how they go with the styles of the season yet always have a unique point
of view and purpose. The fit of
every garment is always perfect.
In the fashion industry, this is synonymous with talent, love, and
passion for what one does. They
know how much I adore them and they have been inviting me to their shows for
years. I want to buy every garment
from every collection! I’ll share with you a bit of gossip—they are in the
Vogue Italia 3D print edition.
I think my fingers are burning as I write this. I have always critiqued Jose Maria
Torre’s ability as a designer, but I am left speechless by what he presented
this Wednesday during México’s fashion week. There were beautiful moccasins and boots in beige, burgundy
and black, clean and asymmetrical lines, and simple and elegant colors. I loved it!
Giovanni Estrada and Jose
Alfredo Silva are the geniuses behind this line whose concept, besides having a
minimalist and chic touch, has been able to express the ideal wardrobe of the
urban woman that likes to be in style without looking like a slave to fashion. The simplicity of the hair styles
perfectly complemented the clean lines in the fabric. Fringe, dyed fabric, and brocades in a silver, black, and
white palette also dominated the runway.
Amazing!
This has been an intense and fun week, leaving us with a
pleasant taste in the mouth. We can
say with a smile that in Mexico, the fashion industry is becoming stronger with
each season.
